Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) Capability added at Nanotech Innovations
The recent acquisition of a Phenom SEM from FEI will allow Nanotech Innovations (NTI) to perform high-end imaging for a variety of applications. The Phenom system has both optical and electron microscopy with magnifications of 20x - 20,000x and an ultimate resolution of 30nm.
NTI can now perform a wide array of analytical imaging such as inspection of materials to detect imperfections, determine uniformity of plating layers, etc. Detailed imaging of photovoltaic structures and nanomaterials is also available.

Nanotech Innovations and Strem Chemicals announce strategic partnership to Supply Carbon Nanotube Arrays
Nanotech Innovations, LLC (NTI), supplier of a patented Carbon Nanotube production system and process, has entered into a strategic partnership with Strem Chemicals Inc. to offer a new line of nanomaterials, carbon nanotube arrays.
NTI currently produces and sells its patented benchtop system and process, the Nanotech Innovations SSP-354, to the educational and research markets. NTI has recently added the production of specialized advanced materials such as carbon nanotube (CNT) arrays to its product line. “The arrays we manufacture are comprised of highly uniform, vertically aligned, high quality CNTs on a quartz substrate” said Dennis M. Flood, General Manager at NTI, “with other substrates available soon”. The CNT arrays are suitable for research and product development in several areas including micro-electronics, sensors, flexible displays, thin-film photovoltaics and others. NTI’s carbon nanotube arrays will be available through Strem Chemicals. “We are pleased to be extending our line of carbon-based nanoproducts to the R&D community with the addition of these products” said Ephraim S. Honig, COO at Strem.
Strem is a privately–held company that manufactures and markets specialty chemicals of high purity. Its clients include academic, industrial and government research and development laboratories as well as commercial scale businesses in the pharmaceutical, microelectronic and chemical / petrochemical industries. Strem also provides custom synthesis (including high pressure synthesis) and cGMP manufacturing services.
